JACKIE ROBINSON INTEGRATION OF MLB
In 1947, Jackie Robinson made history when he was asked to go from Minor League baseball to Major League to the Brooklyn Dodgers. Despite the resentment he knew he'd face, he still proceeded to go for it, and in fact, had many people rooting for him. There was a lot of harassment that he faced, and many tried to hurt him, but he managed to handle the pressures, and continue to be an amazing ball player. Jackie Robinson being able to integrate the African American Race into the MLB changes sports forever. He had a successful ten year baseball career, and went into the baseball hall of fame. This was important to the civil rights because it showed that blacks can be just as good as whites in the world of sports also.
