The 15th Amendment of the Constitution gave African Americans the right to vote. In the sections of this amendment, it says that it is illegal to deny any American the right to vote because of race, skin color, or for being a former slave. It also gave African Americans the right to serve in government jobs. This amendment is extremely important to the Civil Rights because it gave African Americans representation in government, and in the choices made by the country. It was also the start of people of any color being able to become influential leaders, which was a big part of The Civil Rights Movement.
