CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1957
The Civil Rights Act of 1957 passed by Eisenhower was the first time that legislative action took place in order to protect civil rights. It called for the prosecution of those who tried to prevent blacks their right to vote. This act proved that the government was beginning to have more regard for American's Civil Rights.
