Ralph Albernathy

Picture
Ralph Albernathy was born in Alabama on Mach 11, 1926. Once he graduated high school, he was taken into the army during World War II, and soon after attended Alabama State and Atlanta University. His spouse was Juanita Jones, and together they had four children. Ralph was very good friends with MLK, and they founded the Montgomery Improvement Association, and were also the organization managers of the bussing boycott(as a result of Rosa Parks). He was the vice president of the SCLC and was the host for the rally of the Freedom Riders. Him and MLK worked great together, they organized plenty of sit-ins, protests, boycotts, and marches. They were even arrested 17 times! Years later in 1977, he ran for a seat in the HOR, but failed. However, that did not stop him because he wrote an autobiography, and passed on April 17, 1990.
